Session Description

Alternative Spaces: Creating a building program that works for growing ministries. Learn how to take advantage of the commercial inventory in the market. Large boxes make the best sanctuary and ministry buildings. Learn what to look for and how you can maximize your impact in the community and commercial districts of your city.

Course Instructor: Bobby Patterson, AIA, LEED AP, NCARB
Bobby has designed over 200 churches and serves as a Conference Instructor for the National Organization for Church Facility Managers.

Leveraging Real Estate Assets: Churches are doing more with their properties than Child Care and Christian Schools. You may be passing up on additional income. There are many options for your campus that creates employment, lease income, and commercial services to your area. Learn what programs and industries need your property and will pay for its use, as well as what businesses you can organize for your Non-Profit and CDC.

Course Instructor: Tunua Thrash, Masters in City Planning, MIT
Ms. Thrash draws upon a decade of experience in urban infill community redevelopment connecting various stakeholders such as non-profit, political, faith-based and lending institutions. Her work at GDA has featured a broad array of real estate product types, including market and financial analysis of urban infill communities, mixed-use retail, office, hotel and housing developments. She has also lead development management engagements in some of California’s most complex urban markets.

Audio Technology: The way your congregation and visitors receive the Word of God and what they actually hear is as important as what they actually hear. Every time your audio system is used, people should leave with an experience they both understood and literally felt. Precise and strategic planning of your equipment, wall and ceiling treatments, as well as proper training of your Sound Engineering Team provides lasting impressions on your members and guest. Learn the fundamentals of audio systems that will do so.

Course Instructor: Donnie Haulk, President Audio Ethics

Television Broadcast Quality: What does it takes to produce quality web and telecast productions? What type of investments should be made to share the gospel effectively through television and other video mediums? The Inspiration Network's Global Media Institute will share base principals and systems to creating first class productions. This course will occur in two sessions it is strongly suggested you bring staff members who handle editing, platform design, and lighting.

Compliance and Risk Management: Organizations operate more effectively when the legal structure is clear to the leadership, service workers, and government agencies. As budgets for Church's have grown so has its management become more complex. Those complexities expose your Ministry to countless liabilities and threats to the Church's finances as well as public image. The Church Law Group will speak to the issues of Risk Management and Corporate Compliance.

Course Instructor: David Middlebrook, The Church Law Group
